In Covenant University where highest academic standards and zero percent tolerance to intellectual fraud are the ground norm, it is important to alert new students and remind others that course compacts alone do not constitute an encyclopedic perspective of any topic. They are meant to provoke interest for independent inquiry and self-discovery. CLR therefore provides students avenue for grounding and gaining mastery of issues raised in class. Rote learning is dangerous for knowledge is said to be what remains after the book is taken away.

In your literature review efforts, you may need to discuss with our most amiable and highly motivated librarians on your information needs not necessarily availability of particular materials. A student who needed information on DNA was reportedly asking for a good biology text whereas DNA was exhaustively discussed in Encyclopedia of Science and Technology. The availability of rich digital and analogue resources in CLR will be mere decorations except they are thoroughly foraged and exploited. Great kings and queens, nothing can replace the habit of reading which is the gateway for lasting distinctions. Only voracious readers can emerge as new generation leaders.
